The BETT Show is without doubt the worlds biggest, and most important, international educational technology show. As was the case last year it was once again held in the vast ExCel Exhibition Centre, by the Thames, in London’s Docklands.
HANDSON ICT was fully represented for the full four days of this years BETT Show, as Mirandanet Members and Fellows shared the latest news about the project. The team were able to disseminate the outcomes and progress of the HANDSON project, formally and informally through conference presentations, a series of ‘expert panels’ and through discussions and network meetings with individuals and organisations and professional bodies including NAACE, JISC, and a wide spectrum of educational technology businesses represented through BESA. Mirandanet Fellows also networked extensively with individuals and IT providers whilst the Mirandanet team answered questions about HANDSON, MOOCs, and distributed the HANDSON information leaflets available on the stand.
At the show, Dr. Sarah Younie, Dr. Patricia Charlton and Prof. Christina Preston also delivered a 45 minute conference presentation on MOOCs which made substantial reference to the HANDSON project. The presentation was attended over 60 people on 21st January and on MirandaNet 22nd participated on a Department for Education Panel.
More on all of this, and BETT in general in the next posts which follow shortly.
